"Business Networks International Inc. provided security architecture and design services as part of the CSC-Connecting for Health (CFH) consortium that recently concluded the Nationwide Health Information Network (NHIN) Architecture project. This prestigious project was funded by the US Department of Health Human Services with the goal of providing the foundation for secure, reliable and standards-based health information exchange nationally. The CSC-CFH consortium developed the NHIN architecture and implemented prototype networks in three health markets to demonstrate the real-life value of the NHIN.

Business Networks was responsible for developing the security and privacy architecture component of the NHIN architecture, and did a superlative job in completing this critical project deliverable. They made significant contributions to the rest of the CSC-CFH NHIN architecture, and were active participants in building a consensus across the diverse stakeholder group that made up the consortium. Their work was of high quality and appreciated by all members of our team."

Newyork NY and Atlanta GA, February 20, 2008:

Business Networks International Inc (BNETAL) is part of a team of companies led by Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) that is performing on a major project to develop a "Trial Implementation of the Nationwide Health Information Network" (NHIN-II) awarded to the New York eHealth Collaborative (NYeC)'s consortium. The award to NYeC was announced by the US Department of Health and Human Services, and the award to CSC was announced by CSC.

The NYeC team will work with two regional health information exchange organizations in the New York City metropolitan area – New York Clinical Information Exchange and Long Island Patient Information Exchange – to develop electronic patient summary records with two of their participating providers, Visiting Nurse Service of New York and North Shore University Hospital.

The NYeC team will work with other teams from across the country to cooperatively develop specifications for, and trial implementations of, the NHIN and help ensure compatibility among all organizations. "Business Networks was selected to provide expertise on this project based on their excellent performance in NHIN Phase I project as part of the CSC-led consortium", said CSC's Technical Project Lead from NHIN Phase 1 project. Under the terms of the agreement, Business Networks will provide security architecture consultation services for the NYeC to facilitate a state, regional and non-geographic health information exchange consortium. This consortium will become a component of the NHIN’s “network of networks” to share individual health records and clinical data electronically and securely.

Business Networks is and has been providing security architecture expertise on this project since the inception of the project in October 2007.
